Rhonda Whitfield transitioned to a portfolio career of mediation, non-executive directorships and executive mentoring following senior executive leadership roles in global technology organisations. Her first career was as a registered nurse. In 2013, she entered the field of Elder Mediation through participation at the international World Summit on Elder Mediation in Adelaide. Later that year, she became a founding member and Secretary of the Elder Mediation Australasian Network (EMAN). Her elder-specific mediation training (2015 and 2019) and ongoing professional development led her to Elder Mediation International Network (EMIN) international certification.
Rhonda is passionate about the rights and individual choices of older people needing to be heard, to convincingly share their own voice, and to continue to be actively involved in effective decision making in all aspects of their lives. Well structured, facilitated, multi-party conversations sensitive to an older person’s needs help to realise this ideal.
