Congratulations to Rachael Mayne who recently completed the Elder Mediation Advanced Certification, thereby entitling her to use EMIN’s coveted “Cert.EM Advanced” designation.
Rachael Mayne is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and is accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation Scheme (NMAS) in Australia. She practices family mediation with Interrelate in NSW, Australia. Prior to this Rachael was co-coordinating one of the trial sites for the Senior Relationship Service with Relationships Australia Canberra & Region (RACR) looking to support older people and their families experiencing or at risk of experiencing elder abuse.
According to Brenee Brown “Compassion is not a virtue – it is a commitment. It’s not something we have or don’t have – it’s something we choose to practice”. Rachael is committed to practicing compassion with the older people and families she works with. Rachael knows that when a person is seen, heard, and valued for all that they are, and all that they are not, we all benefit. Older people deserve to be seen, heard, and valued in their life and Rachael remains committed to changing the ageist attitudes and beliefs that have contributed to undermining that value.
