Carol Ryan is a Certified Advanced Elder Mediator who holds an MA in Mediation and Conflict Intervention. She is an accredited Family Mediator and is also a trained Child-inclusive Mediator. Carol is the founder of Amba Family Mediation and serves on the Board of the Elder Mediation International Network (EMIN).

Throughout Carol’s professional career, she has worked with families experiencing change, conflict and uncertainty. Drawing on her expertise as a former Family Solicitor, Carol brings a calm, empathetic and constructive approach to mediation. She is committed to helping individuals and families find constructive ways forward by communicating more effectively, fostering understanding and collaboration to preserve relationships where possible, and reaching practical, sustainable solutions.

Carol has a longstanding interest in elder mediation and is passionate about promoting the rights of older people, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected. She strongly believes in the importance of autonomy, dignity, self-determination and informed decision-making for older adults and families navigating later-life issues.
