Ruth Johnson is the Principal Solicitor at Tools Legal based in Western Sydney. She is collaboratively trained in Wills and Estates.
She provides flexible services, including virtual and mobile options, and delivers a faith-based, child-centred, and client-led coaching process for couples who are separating or divorcing. Using evidence-based tools, she supports clients to transform trauma, facilitate the transition to recovery, and raise resilient children through peaceful co-parenting.
Ruth is of Indian background and originally qualified as a lawyer in India. She communicates in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and French, and has experience supporting clients and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
Her practice applies collaborative, person-centred, and culturally responsive dispute resolution, with a developing focus on elder and intergenerational matters, including ageing, care transitions, and family conflict within CALD communities.
She is an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), CM-1 Mediator, CDC Certified Divorce Coach®, CDC Divorce Transition and Recovery Coach®, and Parenting Coordinator.
Ruth holds a Master of Laws in Labour, Administrative, and Industrial Law from India and a Master of Applied Law (Wills and Estate Planning) from the College of Law, Sydney. She has completed Eldercaring Coordinator Training through the Elder Justice Initiative and is formally trained in Elder Mediation, having achieved her EMIN Certified Elder Mediator (Cert EM) accreditation.
