Meet Karen Quirk who recently achieved Elder Mediation International Certification (Cert EM).

Karen has worked in family mediation in Ireland for upwards of twenty years.
In that time she has done extensive  work with couples who wish to separate or divorce dealing with all aspects of  disputes including property, pensions, assets, debts and parenting. She also has significant experience in dealing with child welfare disputes.
Karen has been actively involved in providing training programmes for trainee mediators , supervising their  practical work  experience and providing mentoring. She is presently working as a mediator with the Legal Aid Board on a programme that operates adjacent to the District Court in Dublin which affords people the opportunity to deal with their disputes concerning issues such as custody, access, maintenance and guardianship through mediation rather than going to court. Karen has trained in Child Inclusive Mediation. She holds a Master’s Degree in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. She worked as a solicitor in general practice prior to working in mediation.  In the capacity of a solicitor she worked mainly in conveyancing, litigation and probate.
