Assessment
- When all documentation, as detailed in the initial application form above, has been received, reviewed and approved, you will be notified that the application will be proceeding. Then the remainder of the Certification Fee (225€) is due – Click here to Pay These funds will pay for certified experts to assess your application, videoed role-play and role-play analysis.
- Role Play Video – The applicant will be required to present a role play that will be evaluated by an approved assessor. The Registrar will provide a role-play scenario to the candidate which is to be used for the recording of the role-play by the candidate. This recording can then be submitted to the Registrar for evaluation. A self evaluation tool will also be provided by the Registrar to enable the mediator to evaluate his/her own performance; this should be submitted with the completed role-play. If the applicant does not meet minimum requirements an interview will be held and the role play may be repeated upon request within ten months of the original demonstration.

Note: – The practice guidelines and the process for certification are the result of EMIN’s continuing consultation and collaboration with international mediation associations, researchers and practitioners to establish uniform standards for elder mediators. As a leader in the field of elder mediation, EMIN continually makes changes to the certification process to reflect the growth in the field and emerging trends.
